How To Detox Your Skin

The liver and colon help the skin to remove toxins from your body. If either of those organs aren’t working well then your skin will be left looking dry and dull. If this is the case, you can undertake a skin detox to improve the look and feel of your skin.

It isn’t difficult to do a skin detox, you just need to switch to healthier food and drink alternatives whilst avoiding specific food and drinks over a certain amount of time. You should consume more herbal tea, yogurt, nuts, seeds, fruit, and raw vegetables and avoid alcohol, dairy products and processed foods altogether.

You should also look into taking a range of healthy, natural supplements and vitamins. Milk thistle, flaxseed and all probiotic products are particularly good. They are full of antioxidants which help your your skin to remove toxins and rejuvenate.

In terms of drinks, the most important thing to do is consume at least 8 large glasses of water per day, as this will help to flush the toxins from the pores of your skin, while simultaneously rehydrating it.

Avoid all kinds of drinks containing either caffeine, alcohol, or lots of sugar. They may make you feel good for a while, and take your mind off of your detox, but they offer just a short term “high” and then leave you feeling more drained than you were before.

This is a perfectly safe way to perform a skin detox, though you shouldn’t stay on this plan for more than 14 days. There are some side affects, like feeling a lethargic or irritable, but these only arise during the first few days, are nothing more than mildly uncomfortable.

The first results will be visible in the mirror almost immediately, and by the end of the program, your skin will look and feel much better.
